5 indigenous minor girls sexually harassed by a school teacher in Barkal
5 indigenous minor girls were sexually harassed by a school teacher in Barkal upazila under Rangamati district. It’s been learnedthat the victim students of class 5 and 2 respectively were being harassed sexually from many days by the alleged perpetrator Rezaul Karim, assistant teacher of Barkal Aimachara Sakrachari Primary School.
The parents of the victims complained to the Head Master of Barkal Aimachara Sakrachari Primary School regarding the issue but they didn’t get any justice. Later they directly complained to the Upazila Primary Education Officer regarding the issue. They also sent a copy of the complaint to the Chairman of Rangamati Hill District Council, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Rangamati, and other relevant government officials.
Sushil Kumar Chakma, President of School Managing Committee said, the proof of sexual harassment has been found. Proper justice should be provided for avoiding further incident in future.
Md Zillur Rahman, District Primary Education Officer informed that, an investigation committee has been formed. Proper steps would be takenbased on the investigation report.
